Install error ... not a valid Win32 application

Hi Everyone,

I've got a new Dell E20 running Vista Business. I downloaded the Ad-Aware
SE Personal exe file to my Program Files in its own folder. The problem is
that when I try to run the program, it comes up with an error message that
reads aawsepersonal.exe is not a valid Win32 application. I have right
clicked on it and pressed 'run as administrator' but this doesn't seem to
help.

Has anyone got any suggestions. I have turned UAC off for the time being
until I get all my security stuff installed.

Try using the Program Compatibility Wizard on the program (or change the
compatibility settings manually).

Run the Program Compatibility Wizard
1. Open the Program Compatibility Wizard by clicking the Start button ,
clicking Control Panel, clicking Programs, and then clicking Use an older
program with this version of Windows.

2. Follow the instructions in the wizard.

Let us know if that fixes the problem.

Thanks Andy,

Did as instructed but unfortunately an error came up and it still would not
install the program to where I wanted it to go - in Program Files.
I ended up re-downloading the program off the internet and just clicking Run
- which I don't like doing, I prefer to save them to Program Files and then
scan them before 'Run'ning the program. Never mind, it is done now and the
program is running as it should. Thanks for your help anyway.

Cheers,

Lil...
