Install - 34 minute hang

I'm trying to install XP on my Dell Inspiron 7000. I re-formatted my HD (NTSF format) and was moving nicely along until it hangs consistently at 34 minutes. When this first happened I was connected to the network. I've disconnected and have NOTHING connected to the laptop. I don't have a lot of memory in this laptop. Could that be the problem? Or is there something else I should try?

Thanks for any help you can give.

Physically disconnect all peripheral hardware devices from your PC,
except your monitor, mouse and keyboard.

I looked here for the exact same problem.

At 34 minutes the computer freezes and I need to restart. If you ever receive an answer as to how to fix this problem, please let me know. I am trying to install XP Pro on an AMD K6-2 with 354 megs of RAM.

Is there any posibility that the motherboard could cause such a problem?

Thanks,

Rich

Thanks for your response.

I have downloaded the program you suggested. How do I install the fix or debugger on a reshly reformatted hard drive?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Hmm. Motherboard? Makes me feel better that it's not a RAM problem if you're having the same issue and not getting any further. Keep me posted if you figure anything out, too.

You need to ensure that you have the BIOS upgraded to A15. Mine wa
older at A10. A15 is mandatory of Win 2K and XP
