Hi all,
Im having problem with stability. Getting the stop screen with a variety of
erros. Was overclocking my CPU 100x4 -->119x4 FSB, with no problems. Then
got deterioriation in stability, not associated with any new hardware or
software installation. Now back to stock speed, but still problems.
Heres what ive done.
Tried alternative 3200 ram, replaced existing 2700.
Tried different video card, ATi 7200 in place of 9800xt.
Swapped HD, with 98os, in place of XP, all other peripherals eg cd rom,
removed.
Also tried hooking up a 250watt PSU, and running dual PSU, the MB/Vid card
off the 250w, with all else on the QTec.
And in all cases was still getting crashes, to a slightly greater/lesser
extent.
So think Im down to three possible sources of problems, all hardware.
CPU (its a 2.4P4, 400fsb)
MB (its a P4S8X-X, with on board lan and sound)
PSU (its a Q-tec, dual fan, 450w)
Since I dont have any compatible replacements for these, I cant 'swap' them
out. Would like some advice as to how to progress to narrow down the problem
further.
Thanks in advance
