inserting webcam from another site into my webpage

Thomas A. Rowe

Insert an IFrame (If using Fp2002, this a menu option under Insert) and load
the image in the IFrame. You may also want to check with the other site for
permission to display their images within your site.

yes i would like to have thumbnails of my aquarium websites as url links . . . or maybe a large webcam window on my intro page.

Use thumbnails is fairly easy, just take some photo, then resize them as
needed in a image application, import them into your current open FP web,
insert them onto your page and then link them to your content, etc.

As far as live images from a webcam, you need to check with the manufacturer
of your web cam for software to upload image to a web site.

I don't know what the owners of web-cam site would think ("stealing" their
bandwidth?!).....I'd just link to their site!

thanks thoma

I meant i would like to have a frame on my website that is showing the live webcam image when the site is visited. Then clicking either the webcam image itself or a link could take one to the full page webcam page. I have the webcam up and running and it is accessible from the internet

Use the IFrame to link to the page on the other site with the image.

I can't view the picture!

I get this error:

403 Forbidden
File for URL /station/batcam.jpg (F:\ntv\station\batcam.jpg) cannot be accessed:
The process cannot access the file because
it is being used by another process. (code=32)

The file must be on a web site that is accessible via http from your page.

You could try >Insert >Picture and use the appropriate URL. Then set a
refresh on the page if you wanted it to update automatically
