Inserted picture larger than slide

When I insert a picture into a slide, the picture is larger than the slide. I
must drop the zoom to 25% and then shrink the picture. Is there a way that I
can forego this and have the picture be the size of the slide? I would prefer
to not reduce the size of my picture using something like powertoys before
inserting into powerpoint.

Thank you.

You'll have to either resize the picture inside PowerPoint -- or do it
outside PowerPoint before inserting.

There's also an add-in that does this for you in one click within
PowerPoint:

If you use Microsoft Office Picture Manager to instert your pictures (file,
send to, microsoft office..., open presentation), they will fit the slide
automatically.
