"?" inserted into every email message

I have a very strange problem that my company IT can't figure out.
Whenever I use my laptop, a ? gets inserted to outgoing messages.
Doesn't ever happen with my desktop or co worker machines.
I can't see the inserted ? when I'm writing the message, but it is
always there when someone receives my messages.
Laptop is a Dell Inspiron 2500, ~3yrs old, Windows XP, IE 6.0, 900mhz,
256mb, 18gb hd with 3gb free.
We use exchange server 2003 for our outlook webmail access.

I've run lavasoft to check for spyware, always have Norton running.

This drives me crazy. I'm so sick of people asking what I mean by the
? in my messages.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Where in the messagaes does Outllook insert the "?". I have seen this happen
on some PCs and it is usually where there should have been an apostrophe. I
think this is caused by the language settings on the PC.

It is put in as the first character.
It happens even if I send an empty message.
The recipient gets a ? as the only character in the message that I sent
blank.
