Input Mask

Hi All,

I am using Access 2003. I chose the date input mask as the short date. The
mask is 99/99/0000;0;_. What does "0;_" mean at the end?

Thanks.

Hi -

For text data, the ";0" part forces the literals "/" to be stored along with
the other characters, and the ";_" part means use an underscore as a
displayed "placeholder" when entering data.

If the data is being entered into a Date/Time field, the literals aren't
stored anyway, since to Access, a date is "numeric", so only the "_" means
anything in the input mask.

Check the input mask entry in "help" for more information.
