Inkjet printer b&w but trying to do color

C

Cristof Falk

I have an HP Deskjet 990CSE (a color inkjet). I have my default
printing preferences set to black and white (using the stock drivers
in Win xp). But when I print things that have color (like a Half logo
or even grey text), it includes color. This is in IE and in Word 2002.

Is there a way to get true greyscale/b&w on this printer?

Inkjets usually use some magenta to make the black look 'blacker'. Since
this is quite an old and now discontinued printer, you might find the
software at www.fineprint.com may improve the situation.
