Initialization String

Hi,
I've put a custom init string into the modem properties in control
panel... but when I start the fax service it keeps overriding this.
I've verified this by debuging the modem with a log.. it will init
correctly.. then when I start the fax service.. the fax service
overrides my init commands with its own.. which in this case is
destroying the changes I made... where are these init strings in the fax
service coming from?

i think they are from windpws\inf ... not sure though .. for example,
our modem is a multitech 5634 and and i see 5634.inf with
initialization info in that file

yup.. see my other post to you... I've edited our mdmdgden.inf file and
no luck.. windows is still pulling the incorrect information out.

Strangly, Microsoft doesn't seem to care about those of us who use Fax..
they actively visit the active directory (their flagship product)
forums.. but not very often do MS people post here =\
