Inheritance - Parent?

T

Tim

If I have an object in Active Directory that is inheriting permissions, how
can I find out where the object is inheriting the permissions from?

Is there a way of finding out which parent object the permissions are being
inherited from?

Thanks in anticipation.

Objects only have one parent, and that is at the level directly above them.
The term parent implies a relationship to some other object, so the same
object can be both a parent to an object directly below it or the child of
an object that is directly above it. If the box is checked to "allow
inheritable permissions from parent to propagate to this object" then it is
referring to the object directly above it.
