I was wondering how you would get the information bubbles to display when you
remove a hardware device. All i hear is the bubble popping i dont see it say
"It is now safe to remove your hardware" Please someone help.

Hi,

you can try to right click the "hardware" icon in the bottom right hand
corner and then choose to remove hardware safely.

hope it helps :)

Hi JDD, try this.

1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then press ENTER.
2. Navigate to the following subkey:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced
3. Right-click the right pane, create a new DWORD value, and then name it
EnableBalloonTips.
4. Double-click this new entry, and then give it a hexadecimal value of 1.
5. Quit Registry Editor. Log off Windows, and then log back on.

I long since gave up with the "safely remove hardware" business. It
rarely works on any of my PCs and usually tells me not to remove
whatever (normally a USB HDD.

I just ignore it and unplug the thing anyway, never had a problem.

When I did used to use the wizard and sucessfully got an OK to unplug
the next time I plug the drive in I find the Shares have all been
deleted - pain in the bum. The rip it out regardless method does not
"unshare" the HDD.

Works for me.
