Info on Slide Master not being displayed on slide

I have info in the bottom center of my slide master and it's not being
displayed on the slide. I know it used to be there, but I'm not sure when
it stopped. Does anyone know how I can get this back? I'm using
PowerPoint 2003.
Thanks,

I have found a version that's working correctly and the next version that
wasn't. It know that the user who edited the version with the issue has
updated to Office 2007 and he believes it may have been before he edited this
presentation. What do we do to get the master to work properly when we are
using 2003 and 2007 to edit this doc?

Thanks,

I've added the missing information to the FOOTER and removed it from a
placeholder on the slide master. This is going to be such a headache since
this same master is used throughout the company.

Hi Barb

Check that 'omit background graphics from master' hasn't been selected on
the offending slides.

While 2003 and 2007 work very differently as far as masters are concerned, I
don't know that I've heard of manually placed elements not showing up. I
would avoid using the footer if at all possible though - for one thing
the footer will appear as an editable element on a 2007 slide so is easy to
move/delete by accident.

Another thing to check - how does the master in 2003 look after the file is
edited in 2007?

Oh, and just for good measure:

I'm having a similar problem. I have a footer on my slide master (in PPT
2003) and it shows up inconsistently. I have text in the footer on the far
left and far right. The text on the right margin is present on some slides
and not others. What's going on?

The master looks fine in 2003 after it's edited in 2007. I also checked the
'omit background graphics from master' option and it's unchecked on all
slides. I did just discover that if I check 'View Footer', but don't enter
anything in the footer, the entered text on the master looks something like
this
<footer>ENTERED TEXT

And the ENTERED TEXT is displayed on the slides that use that master.

Suggestions?

FWIW, my hardware acceleration is set to FULL (all the way to the RIGHT).
