can anyone tell me how to switch off the little
information bubbles that pop up when you hover your mouse
over quick launch icons etc?

also I have been told that you can speed up internet
conections by adjusting your buffer from 32000 to 64000
ish.where is the buffer no held so it can be adjusted?

Turn off "Mouse hot tracking effects" in TWEAKUI.EXE > Mouse. TweakUI
is available from
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp. In the
Explorer > Tools > Folder Options > View turn off "Show pop-up
descriptions..."
