.inf file missing

hello
i want to transfer pictures from my canon a 70 to my pc but my camera is not recognized by my pc.
the instal wizard failed at the end of process with a message " inf. file missing" or something like that.

as anybody alredy encountered this problem ?

Did you install the software provided on the included cd?

yes i did install the canon sofware
so i have all the softwares needed to work on pictures (i mean the canon softwares of course)
but my pictures are in my camera,and despite the fact that i connected my camera to my pc,i can't tranfer them
when i try to download my pictures with zoom browser EX (a canon software) a message says "no camera found"
that is strange because my camera is connected with usb and when i start or close my camera i can hear a sound on my pc speakers proving connexion is existing somewhere

the instal wizard is asking me,after installing the canon software,to choose a driver for my camera but none of them (there are 6 drivers indicated) is good and the install wizard ends with a failure
with xp,no driver should be needed i read,but for me it does not work

Try using the Scanner and Camera Wizard to copy the pictures to your
computer and then use Zoom Browser to manipulate.
