Index of pdf files

I absolutely need desktop search to index the content of pdf files and show
them on the preview panel. Search in XP allowed me even to select text in the
preview panel and work with it, somethnig I am missing badly now. I installed
Adobe Reader 8 for Vista, while I used 7 in XP. Does it have anything to do
or do I have to select something in Vista to get the same results. Why am I
not finding my pdfs by content?

Take a look at http://www.DesktopDecision.com - small and fast content
search utility. Currently it supports search in html format, but Adobe
PDF support will come nearest future. And now we are ready to hear
from you any wishes

Hello Blanca,
Installing Reader 8 should be sufficient. Is PDF extension checked in
Control Panel->Indexing Options->Advanced->File Types? Does it say PDF
filter next to it?
Thanks,
Ilia

Everything appears as you say, I already checked that, but it still does not
index the contents and it does not display the file on the preview panel. Is
there anything else that I do not know? Thank you.

I already checked that and everything apperas just as you say. But it still
does not index pdf contents and they are not opened on the preview panel. Is

Blanka,
Are you running a 64bit flavor of Windows? I could get PDF content to index
on a 32bit machine, but not on a 64bit one. I'm sure Adobe will address this
issue eventually.
In Vista, Previewers are different from WDS. Again, I'm sure Adobe will
provide one eventually.
Sorry for inconvinience,
Ilia

No, I am running 32bit, so you say I should not have problems. I guess I will
have to wait for Adobe for some help, then. Thank you anyway.
