Increasing the size of the Limit profile size GPO object past 30MB

I found the following KB article which indicates that you can change the
maximum size of the GPO object 'Limit profile size' from 30MB to a user
defined limit.

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290324

I did what it told me to do, however it doesnt seem to have worked - my
GPO's still tell me that the maximum size I can use is 30MB

Has anyone successfully managed to get this to work - if so, how?

Cheers

Hello Niels,

I just followed the article and it works like a charm. Did you configure
a NEW policy for it, because on an existing it does not work.

Best regards

Interesting...

after your reply I did a little further testing. I use the Group policy
Management Snap-in on my PC. When I try creating a new GPO on my PC it seems
to retain the original 30MB limit setting, however if I use the standard
group policy interface directly on the DC, I can create a new GPO with the
new, higher setting. I also noticed that the list of availble options on the
DC under User Configuration>Administrative Templates> System differ quite
dramatically to the settings I get when I create a new GPO on my PC.

A GPO created on the server has:
User Configuration>
Adminitsrtive templates>
System>
Logon/Logoff
Group Policy

A GPO created on my PC has:
User Configuration>
Adminitsrtive templates>
System>
User Profiles
Scripts
Ctrl+Alt+Delete Options
Logon
Group Policy
Power managemet
Internet Communication Management

If someone could shed some light as to why I'm ghetting such different
settings - i'd appreciate that too :)
