Hi, Patty.
Is it possible to display more than 1024 characters in a cell?
If you are referring to the maximum number of characters allowed in a cell
in Access's QBE design grid, then no. Jet can only allocate 1 KB to each of
these cells, due to the database file's architecture. There are a few
work-arounds, but the easiest is often just to use shorter names when
creating tables and fields. Sometimes the name of a query or the name of a
user-defined function can be substituted for the text that needs to be
placed in the query grid cell, but this depends upon what data set that the
query needs to retrieve.
If you are referring to a cell in a grid in some other application, we
cannot answer the question without knowing what application you are asking
about. And if that's the case, however, please post the question in an
appropriate newsgroup, since this one is dedicated to discussions of
Microsoft Access, the database application from the Microsoft Office
productivity suite.
