Inconsistent Volume Level when WMA file transfered to MP3 player

I have lots of music CDs stored on my computer and use WMP 10 to play and
organize them.

I bought my husband an MP3 player for his birthday. When I transfered some
of the files to his player the playback volumes are inconsistent. The are
consisten within an album, but each album plays back at a diffent volume
volume.

I can't find anything different between the files. The loudest album was
recorded at 64 kbps. The other two are at 192 kbps and 64 kbps. I want them
all to be at the loudest level.

Steps I've tried, but have failed:
*Converted files to MP3
*Transfered directly from CD to MP3 player
*Used iTunes
*Changed rip level to rip at 302kbps

I don't know much about audio files. This is our first MP3 player. Any
suggestions would be appreciated.

I use Roxio for CD burning and converting, Roxio has want is called a
NORMALIZER to make sure ALL music files ready for burning are at the same Vol
level.. Check WMP 10 in its Options, under Recording to see if it does as
well. I am sure it does, but maybe only for the playlist. That should work.
