incoming mail has no text in message body

Recently I have started having problems with incoming mail that are forms submitted by potential customers from my web site. These messages do not contain any body text. I can reply to the sender with no problem. So at least I have access to his/her email address. I use AVG 8.0, although I disabled the email scanner today and nothing changed in Outlook. Messages come through fine when I read them on web mail, so I feel I have isolated the problem to Outlook 2007. My web site host has checked on their end and note no problems there. Thanks for any suggestions.

Disabling the scanner may not be enough. Uninstall AVG and reinstall it
without the mail scanner.

I actually uninstalled avg and installed Avast to see if I could eliminate
the AVG link. Am still having the same problem. And a new problem has shown
up since last post: some outgoing messages also do not contain text, only
the symbols <<<<<.

I talked with Dell Gold Support and their suggestion was to uninstall
Outlook 2007 and reinstall. This is a big process as far as I can tell and I
would rather find another solution if possible. I have had to use web mail
for all my email accounts to ensure I don't encounter these problems, but
this is cumbersome. Thanks for any advice.

I don't know what you mean by "AVG link" and if you installed a new AV
program, you should have made sure that one didn't integrate with Outlook
either. Avast, by default, installs the mail scanner. You must explicitly
exclude it in order to not install it.

Sorry, that probably wasn't very clear. I simply meant that by uninstalling
AVG 8.0, I eliminated the connection between AVG and Outlook that some folks
have said could cause the problem with my email. Am I wrong to think that my
virus protection should NOT be causing this problem? It has never happened
in the many years previously that I had both virus protection and Outlook.
Am I to assume that my Outlook 2007 is in some way corrupted and the only
solutuion is to uninstall and then reinstall? Thanks.

A good many antivirus programs integrate with Outlook and, frankly, it seems
they used to do a better job of it in the past (except for Synamtec products
like Norton Antivirus, which has always done a poor job of integrating).
AVG was always one of the least intrusive, but not if you elected to have it
insert the "This message is virus-free" certification in the message. This
is true for any AV program. When yo install them you should always use a
custom install and leave out the e-mail scanning feature. You still didn't
indicate whether or not you left it out for Avast.
