Inactive Firewall, Windows XP Pro.

I renistalled my Windows XP after formatting the HDD. Now the firewall is
not turned on as it is supposed to be by default.
The on (recommended) and the off (not recommended) in the Firewall General
Tab are both grayed (inactive) and I could not turn it on. I need to
activate the fire wall selection buttons.

Hi Carey, thanks for your response.

The Windows Firewall Service is running and it is automatically started,
however, I followed the instructions as in the below link, but it did not
help.

When I open the Windows Firewall dialog, both the ON and OFF buttons are
grayed... and I couldn't select any of them.

So, What to do?

If you have Windows OneCare installed, then this behaviour is normal. If
not, see:
