Inability to save the edited Outlook contacts

P

Pasha

When I edit the contact details (for example, I changed
the middle name and last name in a contact), and I tried
to save, a popup window states that "The item could not
be saved to this folder. The folder has been deleted or
moved or you donot have permission. Do you want to save a
copy of it in the default folder of the item" appears. If
I click "Yes", another window pops up "You don't have
permission to move this folder"

I am not sure what I am doing wrong. I was able to do
these changes earlier without any troube.

I am using MS OUtlook 2002

You're the only one with a clue as to what changed between "earlier" and
now. Clue us in.

"Earlier" I was able to edit any details on the contact
fields and save them. It was saved without any trouble.
What I wonder is why the MS Outlook doesn't save now. I
did "Detect & Repair' too.

Is it because I am changing the Last Name in the contact?
I realized that if I change any other field like "address
or phone number",it saves the information; but changing
the Last Name or Middle Name doesn't allow me to save.

Any help willbe appreciated.

What I'm saying is that if there is a function you could do earlier that you
can no longer do, something changed within your installation. You're the
only one would who know what that could be: patches, upgrades, setting
changes, etc. Therein lies the clue. What you are posting is not a known
Outlook issue. You must have changed something. Nothing happens all by
itself for no reason. We have no information that would permit
troubleshooting here.

Is there any chance the outlook.pst file came back into your computer
from a CD-Rom. That happened to me once. The file was a read only
file and I had to change the properties.
