In WMM 2.1 WinXP Pro SP2, Need Title Background to be Transparent

It seems as though there should be some way to make the background of a
title to be transparent, so that the text and animation can be superimposed
over video. However, if such a capability exists, I have not been able to
find it.

Is it possible to make title background transparent, so the text and its
animation can be superimposed over video?

With kindest regards,

Yes again Dick... I'm working on that very topic right now for my next
weekly newsletter....

Here's a sample I just worked up for the newsletter... placing partially
transparent images of airplanes/a helicopter/my book cover over whatever is
on the timeline..... the overlay is done using custom title overlays, a
subject being discussed by programmers and geeks on the forums at
WindowsMovieMakers.net.... you're welcome to browse or get involved.

the image at the left is what's on the video track... the middle and right
ones are two examples of custom title overlays...

Perhaps you have placed your titles in the Video track. Change to the
Timeline view (Ctrl-T) and drag the title from Video track to "Title
Overlay" track at the bottom. Place it right underneath the video you want
it to superimpose on and there you go...

Great!

Thanks, Rehan! Does it matter what background color is chosen when one uses
the track overlay feature? Seems like white might be best since null does
not appear to be an option.

Text background color has no effect when the title is in "Title overlay"
track. It is not even selectable in the user interface.
