In Tracked Changes: Seeing date of change when rollover mouse

I am using Word 2002 on XP Pro. I have tracked changes
settings set to show insertions and deletions within the
body of the text (the old way), not with balloons in the
margins (the new way).
In older versions of Word, when I moused over the added
or deleted text, I would see who made the change and the
date. I had that function for a while with Word 02 but
that function seems to have gone away in all my tracked
changes documents. I put the mouse over the change and
patiently wait, but get no info on who or when the change
was made. how do I see time of change? This information
is very important to me. Thank you.

In Word, select Tools, Options and on the View tab, make sure Screen Tips is
checked in the View area of the dialog box.

Thanks but that didn't solve it. It WAS working and now
it's not, and I've tried with various files -- short and
long -- and I have no idea why I can't get the mouseover
info anymore. The only thing I don't like about new Word
(aside from the bad and/or out-of-date and/or lacking
help) is the changes in Track Changes.

OK, I got it. I didn't realize that the change you
suggested was necessary for doc -- I thought when I made
the change that it was global for all my docs. And for
some reason, I still can't see dates for changes on the
one doc on which I made the change (and yes, I did save
the change and even open and close Word to "set" the
change). But once I figured out that it was for each
doc, and I made your change on other docs, and they are
all showing the dates now. (I don't know what the deal is
with that one doc, but I don't really care). Finally!
Thanks.
