In Outlook 'Enter Network Passowrd' keeps continually popping up

Help - this is driving me mad. Is it anything to do with YAHOO TOOLBAR or
NORTON VIRUS DEIFINITIONS?

I have been using my current settings in Outlook for well over a year with
no problem. I have made NO changes whatsoever, but yesterday a ENTER NETWORK
PASSWORD box began popping up, and it has kept popping up every few seconds
ever since.

It asks to enter details, I also tick the box to save the password details,
but it just pops up again and again. I have cheked my account settings and
my CORRECT password and LOGIN is stored there just as before.

I have also noticed that a YAHOO TOOLBAR has appeared in my web browser
(internet Explorer) I have never instakked this or asked for it, it has just
'appeared'. Is this the cause of the problem?

I have searched the web and it seems MANY people are suffering this issue.
I have tried all the advice I have come across, as follows:

Deleted the subkey in the registery - DOES NOT STOP THE PROBLEM
Turned off any Outlook Addins - DOES NOT STOP THE PROBLEM
Checked, Double checked and Checked again that my login and password details
are inputted correctly and in the correct case - PROBLEM STILL HAPPENS

This problem is happening to every user and email account on my PC - and one
of those is with a totally different SMTP server and ISP to the other two, so
that means it can't be a problem with my ISP

Anyway, before I throw the machine threw the window, does anyone have any
ideas how to resolve this, other than the suggestion of checking password is
correct or deleting the subkey in the registry.

Advance thanks to you all

No, but if you installed anything from Yahoo (such as IM) it probably got
there then. You can remove it in add/remove programs.

INstalling Adobe Reader will also put the Yahoo! toolbar on your computer
unless you explicitly uncheck that option during the installation.

Hi thanks for this. But nope I have not recently installed Reader, nor I
have installed any IM software (as suggested by the other poster) - in fact I
haven't installed anything for a long time.

This problem just happened over night (as it seemed to with other users) No
one seems to have the answer. If you do a search on these discussion boards
for the words 'network password' you will find threads from hundreds of
people suffering the same problem - and none of them finding an answer to it.

An interesting thread about it can be found about this problem at
http://www.annoyances.org/exec/forum/winxp/t1130775940

It seems the only solution is to do a complete fresh install of XP - what a
pain!!
