In need of help with Access 2000

I'm having a huge problem with my Access Database at
work. Our Database Administrator left the company
abruptly and we are having security problems with our
database. The problem started when I changed computers.
My personal profile was configured on my new computer, but
when I try to log on to our database it does not prompt me
for a logon name and password. In addition, it is
blocking my view of cells. When I looked into our user
security they are also missing. However, if I log on to
my old computer, the database works status quo. When I
look at the database properties (by right clicking on the
icon) there is a security tab. Since we have a share
drive, I thought that if I copied the desktop from my old
computer onto the share drive I would be able to create a
shortcut on my new computer and the properties would say
the same. Well, I was wrong. As soon as I moved the
shortcut to my new desktop, I lost the security tab under
properties. In addition, we were trying to see if it was
only my computer. So, I logged onto another computer in
the department. Since Access had to be installed on my
profile, I had the same problem. Not only that, now the
person that the computer belongs to is having my problem.
Any thoughts? My e-mail is (e-mail address removed). Help
would be greatly appreciated.

You need to ensure that you are accessing the correct workgroup file.

Right-click the shortcut on the old computer, and look at the target. It
likely specifies a workgroup file.

i.e. ....... /wrkgrp "path to mdw"

Ensure that the mdw is accessable. You may have to change the path.
