In Microsoft Access 2000 the save as button does not work

I am asking on the behalf of some else.

In Microsoft Access 2000 the save as button does not work.
This person may have hit something by mistake, to cause the save as
button not to work. This Is part of Microsoft 2000 Office that does
not require activation. Any fix?

If I understanding you right. To save a database to a different
location you use export.

I do have one other question. Under the file menu, their is a
"save as" but it is grayed out. Why is thier a "save as"?

Greg P Rozelle

There IS NO "Save As" button. An Access database IS NOT A DOCUMENT;
it's a *container*, for multile forms, tables, reports, and other
objects. You can Export individual objects in a variety of formats,
but you cannot "save" the entire database as another database file; in
order to make a copy of a .mdb file, you must exit Access altogether
and copy the file in Windows Explorer.

The save As option is only active for individual objects
such as form, tabel etc.

The "save as" choice in the file menu is for individual objects in the
database. If you select a table, query, form, or report the choice will no
longer be grayed out and you will have the option of saving the object
either as another object of the same type or, in some cases, of a different
type.

Thank you.

Note I don't use Access 2000.
I was asking on behalf of another person that is not familiar with all
the stuff on Access 2000 yet. This person also said to say thank you.
