Impotring many Images to PPT 2002...?

Z

ZR

I know that this question has been asked many times. Unfortunatley I
can't find an answer. Need some help:

Need to import many individual images (say from Photoshop Elements
2.0) to my PPT such that each image (picture) will apppear on a
seperate PPT slide. Want to do it in one speedy step if possible.

My PPT is 2002 version.

a. are there any good public domain programs for that ?
b. if none, any good appilcations I can buy ?

Thanks for any help.

You can start with using PowerPoint 2002's Photo Album command. It is
located under Insert | Picture | New Photo Album. It is sometimes hidden on
the dropdown menu, because it is not often used.

It will create a new slide show with the pictures from a directory inserted
one to a slide. Note that the pictures are inserted as backgrounds on an
object, so some editing tools will not work on them.

There are a couple of very good Image importing add-ins, available for low
cost, if PowerPoint's Photo Album does not do what you want.

Bill's advice is good. And there are links to some of the other solutions he
mentions here:

Thank you guys for the help. Almost there...

I downloaded the IIW and it works well but... it didn't import any of
my image files which had been saved by Photoshop Elements 2.0 as .PSD
files, nor has it seen the PDF files in the same folder.

I don't want to go to each PSD and PDF file in convert each image.

Is there another "batch Image Importer" which will import the PE 2.0
(PSD files) to the Pwoer Point 2002 ?

ZR,
IIW can import any image that PowerPoint can. PDF is not an image format?

PSD is a special internal Adobe format. You need to save the file as JPG or
PNG in order to have an image file that can be inserted in PowerPoint.

You can export a whole folder of Photoshop PSDs to JPG by using Photoshop's
Actions feature - also look under File | Automate in Photoshop.

Understand,

But the main need is to be able to import from Photo Shop Elements
2.0, a very popular photo editing program these days. True one can
first save the PE2 images in JPEG or PNG etc. But there should be an
easier way to do that. Fact is that I can cur and paste dorectly from
PE2 to PPT (one image at a time) without first converting the PSD
files to anything...! - So why can't one do that as a batch of PSD
files...???

Why not try something.

On a new presentation ...
Use cut and paste to insert 10 pictures directly from Photoshop to PPT.
Save the file.

Open a second presentation ...
Then, use Photoshop to save the same 10 photos as JPG's and import them
using photo album or IIW.
Save this file separately

What are the file sizes? When I do this, I end up the Cut & paste version
being 4 times larger than the Photo Album version. You?

PS. You can batch convert PSD files to JPG's using Irfanview Photo Program
(free).

Bad idea, though. I wouldn't do that, unless you like real big PPT files.

Probably because

a) Adobe doesn't release the specs for PSD files or does so only at substantial
cost; MS could probably reverse-engineer the format or pay for the licensing
if enough users demanded it. So far you're the first. That's an
accomplishment in itself! Congrats! ;-)

But in a way, PowerPoint is a democracy. If enough of us vote for a feature,
MS is likely to provide it.
