Importing records that include dates from Excel into Access

I'm trying to import from a spreadsheet (Excel 2003) to an existing Access
2003 table. Two records that have blank date fields import fine. The others
that contain dates won't import no matter what format I put the date in. The
input mask for the field in the Access table is 00/00/0000. what format
should i put the date in in Excel?

If the dates in Excel are date/time values (i.e. numbers formatted as
dates) they normally import happily into Access date/time fields.
Provided the Excel cells have some kind of date format I don't think it
matters exactly what it is.

If the dates are stored in Excel as text, they will still import into a
date/time field in an existing Access table. But the dates need to be
formatted in a way that is unambiguous (e.g. "2006/01/04") or that is
compatible with your Windows regional settings.

If this isn't the answer, please post back with more information about
just what's in the Excel sheet.
