I am trying to import a calendar that has been exported as a .PST file from a
server on OUTLOOK 2007. I have OUTLOOK 2003. I have run scanpst.exe and
confirmed that there are 6 folders and 1108 items in the .pst file, but
OUTLOOK 2003 cannot open it, nor will it import it

help?

First, export and import and never the best way to move data from one Outlook
to another. Creating the PST and copying the Calendar folder to it would have
been better.

Second, what does "cannot open" mean, exactly? What error(s) do you see?
Outlook 2007 and Outlook 2003 use the same format PST.

I understand that this is not the best way. Unfortunately my Palm Pilot
died, and the blackberry belonged to the company, so this is what I have to
work with.

it says "operation failed -- an object could not be found". But the file is
there -- I can see it. scanpst.exe found 6 folders and 1108 files.

Simply not true and I told you how. Not once did I mention "Blackberry" or
"Palm", or even "PDA".

And what happens if you click FIle>Open>Outlook Data File and browse to this
PST?

Brian, I apologize. This is the first time that I have posted in here. I
did try and search, but have not found previous instructions on how to import
from a .pst file

when I try to FIle>Open>Outlook Data File and browse to that folder, OUTLOOK
runs into an error and closes. VISTA tells me it is searching for a
solution and I will be informed when it finds one

BTW, when I try to open the file, and tell it that I want to use OUTLOOK, I
get the following error message: cannot start Micorsoft Office Outlook. The
command line argument is not valid. Verify the switch that you are using.

When I search online for the proper program to open the file, it refers me
to OUTLOOK 2007.

don't know whether that helps or not?

*looks woebegone*

You cannot open an Outlook data file from Windows Explorer. Start Outlook and
open it from within Outlook by clicking File>Open>Outlook Data File.

If you try and still get errors, try clearing the forms cache, then try again.
