importing from excel to contacts

I am successful at importing but can't figure out why my phone number and zip
code fields are messed up. All records and fields align properly, but the
number value in these fields is off. I have tried reformatting the excel
cells every way I can think of, but nothing helps. Any ideas?

Your fields are most likely being treated as numeric vs text fields. Format
your cells as text and if that doesn't work for you - save your worksheet as
a CSV file and import that.
