Importing Address Book

Denis

I want to import an address book that is stored in Comma
Separated Values (CSV) format, to my Personal Address
Book (PAB) file.

I can't find a way to import it directly to Personal
Address Book. Kindly show me the way.

Thanks in Advance,
denis

The address book is a view of your contacts folder. Import it into your
contacts folder instead.

Thanks Milly for your response.

But, I want to import it into Personal Address book (PAB)
and not into Contacts. I can easily import it into
Contacts, but I don't want to do that.

Denis

What version of Outlook are you using? The pab-file is only there for
backward compatibility since Outlook 2000.

Outlook 97/98 used the Personal Address Book, but Outlook 2000/2002/2003 do
not. They use the Contacts folder to store email addresses.

FWIW, all versions of Outlook except Outlook 98 and 2000 in IMO mode support
the Personal Address Book in addition to Contacts. It's just obsolete now
that the Contacts folder does everything the PAB did.
