Imported Web Site has 4 Navigation sections/Banners on the Index P

Hello,

I am importing a web site from FP 2000 into FP 2003 and I am experiencing
problems on the index page. There are 4 sections (navigation buttons and page
banners) when previewing the site in IE. But, the design view looks correct.
I published the site and the 4 sections are there as well. It appears these
are left over from the original FP 2000 site's theme. Can someone help me get
this issue fixed?

Don't import, just open the site directly in FP2003.

Hi Thomas,

Do you mean make a copy on a CD of my current web site in FP2000 and then
simply open it from the CD copy into FP2003?

Thank you.

No. Where is the FP2000 site current located, on another PC or on a live/remote server with the FP
extensions?

It is on another PC (my old one) and it is also currently published and
on-line. I could easily make a CD copy from FP2000 and load it into FP2003
(if this is the correct method.) I am upgrading my old PC (and FP2000) to my
new PC (with Office 2003/FP2003.)

Thank you,

Randy J.

If your site is on a remote server that has the FP extensions, then open the site directly in FP via
File Menu | Open Site on the remote server and publish it to a location on your new computer. This
will allow the online version to be in sync with the local copy on the new machine.

If your site is not on a remote server that has the FP extensions, then you can zip the content on
the old machine, write to a CD, then on the new machine drag the zip file to your HD, and unzip,
then open the folder in FP and publish to the final location on your HD.

Hello Again Thomas,

I published the on line site (remote to local) into FP2003, and then made a
few changes on the new local FP2003 copy. Then I was able to publish the
FP2003 site (local to remote) to my web hosting server and now everything is
in synch and I have my web site [from FP2000] on my new PC running FP2003.
Thank you for you support. I honestly appreciate all of your help!

It appears to me that the import site feature on FP2003 is not intended to
import complete sites between different versions of FP?

Regards,

Randy J.

Glad to hear you got everything working.

You are correct, in that the Import function was not design (in any version of FP) to import a site
created in FP or has any type of server-side scripting, etc. It can only import what can be see from
a browser when your do a view source.
