imported objects look different in slide show

Hi!! I am using slides created in an older version of PPT for mac (2001) in
a new presentation in ppt 2004 for mac (os x). Most things translate except
one type of object/image created in an obscure program that I cannot access
any more. The objects on the slides look fine in every view (slide sorter,
normal, etc) except the slide show, where either text from an adjacent
slide shows through where the object would be (like you've cut the object out
in a newspaper) or only part of the object shows but it's white sort of like
a ghost. I really really really want to use these objects for a job
interview!! and I only have til wednesday to figure this out!! Any ideas or
should I give up the ghost and try something different? If I haven't
explained this properly or clearly let me know...
