Imported formatting affecting advanced filter?

Hi

I've imported some data from a table on the web into excel. Th
formatting for it all is General. I want some of it to be formatted a
dates, some as numbers. I've tried using TRIM and then re-formatting
but this hasn't worked. I've attached a sheet with sample data. I'd b
most grateful if anyone knows how to treat this data.

Hi
for dates try the following approach:
- copy an empty cell
- select your date values
- goto 'Edit - Paste Special' and choose 'Add'

Again....

On columns A and B one at a time.....Data>Text to Columns>Next>Next "column
data format">Date>DMY>Finish.

On column C...Format>Cells>Number.

Frank, Gord, thank you both for your replys. The date problem is now
sorted.

I still have a problem with the numbers. I have searched the net, and
tried several suggested solutions with no luck.

I think the route of the problem is that there are uniformly 19 space
characters after each number. I have tried CLEAN which removes the
spaces, but am then unable to manipulate what resuslts.

Is there someway I can fix the result of the CLEAN, so I can then
manipulate it.

Any solutions most gratefully received.

Bertie.
