Import wizard unable to access information for Excel spreadsheet

I can import an Excel 2003 spreadsheet into Access 2003 on my XP machine, yet
when I try to import that same Excel spreadsheet into Access 2003 on a
Windows 2003 Terminal Server, I get an error message, "The wizard is unable
to access information in the file <file>. Please check that the file exists
and is in the correct format."

From the Terminal Server:
I can import other spreadsheets.
The file exists on a fileserver (it is not local).
I cam import other spreadsheets in the same directory on that file server.

Please help.
