import website

I am finding it IMPOSSIBLE to import my website into FrontPage 2003 so that I
may make some changes to it. When I try the file, IMPORT command, and select
the desired destination location, it flashes a pop-up that says it is
downloading the index.html folder, but nothing ever happens. The files do NOT
get downloaded.

I tried a workaround that I found here in this question and answer forum, I
tried opening my website then to PUBLISH to my computer, but my website will
not OPEN. It DID however ask for my password. It said cannot open because the
filename has a \ or a / in it. Well, OF COURSE it does.

Any suggestions?

What is the URL of your site?
Does it have the FP SE?
Are you opening it as http://www.yoursitename.com/ in FP (or IE and using Edit w/ FP)

First, make a new empty website with FP, then publish it to there from your
website.

PUBLISH is not a work-around, it's the way you are supposed to do it.
