Import text file data conversion problem in Access07

Has anyone had any data conversion issues in Access07? I receive a
comma-delimited file weekly, which I must import into Access. One
field is a date field, which comes in as "20080404" (YMD) format. I
have always been able to import these files, and by using a saved
Import Specification file, convert this text field into a date field.
Can't do it with 2007. My spec file has YMD format, 4-digit year, date
& time delimiter are blank. This always worked in 2000 (never upgraded
to 03, so I don't know if this was an issue then.) Anyone know a fix
for this?
