Import from iSeries400

I have a text file importing from 400 query that has 10 different date and
time columns that require calculations. This is presently in an Excel file
but I need to move to an Access database. I can pull it from Excel to Access
with no problem but need to pull the text file directly into Access. My
problem is coverting the date which is stored in the 400 as a number
yyyymmdd. What is the easiest way to convert this date without going through
Excel first. From my users end I need to have as few steps as possible.

You could import it to a temporary table as text, then translate from the
text date to a real date in a query.

On the other hand, when the Import Text Wizard is open, click on the
Advanced button (bottom left-hand corner). You should be able to manipulate
the Date information there.
