Import External Database

I am not able to import an external database. I have an
excel database that I would like to query. I am using
Excel 2000. When I Click on Data, Import External
Database, I get a message at the bottom of my
pane "waiting for data to be returned from Microsoft
Query". I never get the Choose Data Source window box to
select the database type.

Please help!

I have never imported an external database before on this
computer.

hi,
try data>get external data >new database query.
that will get you the Choose data source dialog box.
