Import emails to Outlook from CSV file

I am migrating users away from a Unix based messaging system. I have CSV
files for the users with From, To, Date, Subject and Body.

I have looked at the field mappings during import but can't find the field
relating to dates.

How do I import the Date into Outlook when importing their email?

The dates are among the data that Outlook doesn't import with impunity.
Outlook will change the dates when you import.

If you're using a Unix-based mail system, you may be using an mbox format
message store. If that's the case, import your messages into Outlook
Express using the Eudora or Netscape Communicator option (also mbox formats)
and then export your messages to Outlook from there.

The system is not mbox, it is part of a much larger system that stores email
in a Unidata multivalued database.

If outlook Express can export messages so that the date is preserved when
importing to outlook - how does it do that?

Is there a script or something I can run that will update the dates once in
Outlook?

I connected to outlook via Access and tried to update the date field but it
would not let me.
