IMM32.DLL not found

I am trying to install some new software and am getting
an error message which reads:

This applciation failed to start because IMM32.DLL was
not found. Re-installing the application may fix this
problem.

What can I do?

Go to START > click on RUN > type in box cmd >click
OK > type in prompt window sfc /scannow
You must type it exactly as shown with space between sfc /
You may be asked to put XP CD in CD ROM...Good luck.
