IMAP from Gmail to Outlook 2007

I can send mail from Outlook 2007, but cannot receive it. I used an IMAP
configuration, following the instructions from Gmail. How can I both send
and receive mail in Outlook 2007?

if your mail isn't coming into outlook, you don't have it configured
correctly. Note that imap accts have their own inbox (and other folders) so
you'll need to use that folder set to see the mail.

Should I be configuring this from Outlook? I followed the Gmail instructions
but don't know about further changes on the Outlook end. Is there anywhere
with clearer instructions for a new user? Microsoft is horrible at providing
support or information. There are only these groups to go to for answers.

the google instructions are complete to the best of my knowledge. (I
followed them and they do work.)

are you getting any errors? do you see both the imap folders in your profile
as well as the default folders?

Diane,
In the Mail Folders in Outlook 2007, I have the subfolders for deleted
items, drafts, inbox, outbox, Norton, Junk mail, sent items. On the same
level as the Personal folders, are Archive Folders and a folder called My
gmail account. When I opened that, all the folders are empty.

Press Shift F5 when in the Gmail Inbox folder to initiate a send and receive
In my experience, it was very slow downloading, but once it finished, I had
2 sets of folders in the gmail folder list - a folder for each label and a
set with the inbox, sent folder etc.
