IMAP download

Hi,

I'm far from sophisticated in these matters, so I'll try to explain this
best I can. I have a university email account that runs Microsoft Exchange.
I access the account via both a webmail interface and also via IMAP in
Outlook 2002. The account is about to expire on Dec.31st. When the account
expires, will the contents (in multiple IMAP folders) still be stored on my
local hard drive and viewable in Outlook, or will it all disappear? If the
latter, what tools in Outlook can I use to save the contents permanently to
my hard drive so I can still view it after Dec.31st?

btw, I can also download from the account using POP, but the problem with
that is (to the best of my knowledge) that POP only supports downloading from
the Inbox folder and subfolders, rather than from multiple folders. I
suppose I could rearrange my folders to make everything a subfolder of Inbox,
but I'd rather try other options first.

Thanks,
Sameer

You should use the File | Import and Export command to export the contents
of the IMAP folders to a Personal Folders .pst file.

If you don't move it somewhere, it will most likely disappear when the
account is closed.

As an alternative to what Sure said, you can also create a PST and copy the
items from the IMAP store (on a folder-by-folder basis) to the PST without
resorting to export.
