Images turn to black boxes when PDFing

I'm trying to create a PDF of a Word 2007 Doc. I've tried using CutePDF and I
get black boxes where certain embedded images (they appear to be Excel
charts) are placed. I've also tried saving as a PDF document using the Word
file menu and I get the same result. How can I fix this?
