Image Saving ?

Bill

I have a problem, whereby, when attempting to save a .jpg
image from a webpage, I am only presented with the option
of saving it as a bitmap ! It is consistant in that the
same image (verified as jpeg - right
click>properties>"xxx.jpg") presents the same problem at
all times, but incosistant in that some other jpeg images
will save normally as a jpeg! Frustrating!

Is this a problem with IE6 settings and how do you fix it?

Hi,
Clearing the IE cache will nearly always fix this. From IE> Tools> Internet
Options> General> Delete files (and delete offline content.) It's often
recommended that the TIF folder be kept at about 50 MB (Settings.)

Hope this helps,
Don

Microsoft Knowledge Base Article #810978 addresses this
problem. See: http://support.microsoft.com/?=810978

Hi Bill

I have the same problem as you and Mr. Larry, but so far I haven';t been
able to find a solution to this nuisance. If you please do post it you would
have helped us all.

Thanks Bill
Jaycee :))

PS. I wonder why we pay loads of money to Microsoft software to end up
being helpless consumers. It really gets my nerves going! Perhaps Bill
Gates will read this and let us know how we solve the problem...

The usual fix is to clear your cache.
IE-Tools-Internet Options-Delete Files (in the TIF section)

That seems to work about 98% of the time but if it doesn't, close IE
and reopen and do it again. Also it has been reported that clear
cookies helps, but ensure you save any that you need.

If the above fails, then try here:
