Sorry, I know this forum is about Front Page and my answer probably lies with
different software, but I don't know where else to ask.

I'm using Front Page to create a website for a colleague. She has created
her company logo using PowerPoint, and I was finally able to get this image
into Microsoft Picture It! and save it as a jpg, so that I could use it. Now,
she's asking for the background to be transparent. Is there software that can
do this? I have Adobe Illustrator, MS PictureIt!, paint, frontpage,
Dreamweaver, and access to Photoshop. I did ask this question in the
PowerPoint forum, but am asking here as well because one person said she was
only familiar with powerpoint.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Use Photoshop.
The image will have to be changed to a .gif - .jpg does not support
transparency. For best results start from PowerPoint, then copy and
paste into Photoshop. Converting a .jpg to a .gif will always lose
something in the translation.
Using a .gif may result in a loss of quality - .gif will only support
255 distinct colours including transparent, whereas a .jpg will
support the entire spectrum (as displayed on a PC).

Thank you. I will try this when I get to work.
