I'm desperate for help in finding a driver

Cindy

I'm having serious flickering with my Acer V771 monitor.
I went to URL www.microsoft.com\whdc\hcl\detail.mspx?
ItemID=8183, and found an updated driver for my monitor
that was microsoft tested. This driver is
WINNT50/dmonit/A186022.exe. My problem is that I search
for the driver and nothing is found. I have tried the
BenQ website (they took over acer), and windows update for
drivers, and am about to tear my hair out. Will someone
please tell me where to find the driver? Or how to find
the driver? And, I have tried the troubleshooter, only to
discover that I have messed up help files that need to be
removed and reloaded. Grateful for any help in advance,
Cindy

Copy the A186022.exe file to its own folder, then double-click
on the file. It will expand into multiple files, and one or more of
them will have an .INF extension. At that point you can search
for and install the monitor driver. Make sure you select the option
to search in a specific folder -- then select the folder where the
INF file or files are.

I'm not sure what your problem is with Windows Help, if you
can give me more specifics maybe I can help there also.

I think you need find display (video card) driver,
not monitor driver.
right click on anywhere on desktop other than icon then choose Properties.
(or Start > Settings > Control panel > Display)
open Display Properties and choose Settings tab,
click on Advanced..
Choose Adapters tab,
then you can see what kind of Display adapter you use.
drivers are located on adapters manufacture website(most of case).

but in your case
try to adjust refresh frequency
and Try Trouble shoot from Monitor Properties.
