need help was given an illegal version of windows xp2 comp is now messed up
can i put back in my original version of windows xp without it corrupting my

Is this "original version" already installed on a different PC? If so then
no you can't.

Sounds like you have already "Corrupted" your system!
Buy a legal Windows XP Retail and reformat & install.

That's not a solution, just an additional problem.

You do not explain "...comp is now messed up...". If the problem is not
"passing" the Windows Genuine Advantage test upon trying to update - there
is an option.

Hello Dave,

The OP is tampering with illegal Windows Product,
so I thought to give him/her something else to play with.

I am still with Windows XP Pro.,
In other News Groups I have read that Linux Products,
are safer than Windows, more economical to buy,
and do the same or better job than Windows.

I also read threads when Linux Users,
and Windows Users have a Family like Dispute, on
which OS is the best.
