I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for how to resolve the
following problem:
I am running Win98SE with IE6 and Netscape 7.2. I recently had a
problem where I was no longer able to play movies, so in the course of
trying to fix that problem, I re-installed Windows. Unfortunately,
that still did not fix the video problem, and now when I try to launch
either Internet Explorer or Netscape, the program will launch OK, but
once my computer connects to my ISP and tries to launch a website, I
get the following error:
Iexplore: This program has performed an illegal operation and will be
shut down. Details include: IESPLORE causeed an invalid page fault in
module <unknown> at 000:00771072.
Registers: (several lines of letters and numbers)
I can launch IE OK and can even open web pages on my hard drive, but as
soon as I connect to the internet and try to launch a web page, I get
this error and it crashes. I've tried uninstalling and re-installing
various windows components and have tried repairing IE6 with no
improvement. I tried to re-install Netscape, but I don't have a local
install file and cannot connect to the internet to successfully launch
the re-install. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Joe
