IIS Fault tolerance

If i have 2 IIS server runing the same site but in 2
different location. What king of solution I can use to
have some fault protection?

I can't use physical clustering because iam not at the
same location

I can't use RRDNS (round robin DNS) because it dos'nt
check if the server is online.

Something else?

Two physical locations is a toughy when it comes to this. You can probably
just create both of the entries and disable Round Robin under the Advanced
tab to make it work. Just keep in mind, disabling Round Robin is a global
setting and not zone or record specific.

If you are lucky you might find a provider able to offer
cost effective balancing, such as by use of Big Ip's 3Dns
http://www.f5.com/f5products/3dns/

Alternatively, using your own DNS you might consider
staying with naive round robin but set the TTL to very
very little, and then program up your own monitor to
react to availability and adjust which have RRs (this will
not balance but will resolve the concern you mention about
using round robin in face of system outages).
